Daughters of St. Francis de Sales Mission at Katani, Kenya

Grant dollars help construct a dining hall and more.

p1

The Daughters of St. Francis de Sales (DSFS) opened Mother Theresa Fantoni Nursery School in Katani village outside of Nairobi, Kenya in January of 2009. Guardians of the children attending this school are often single mothers or relatives of children orphaned by AIDS. Other children come from families who seek out an existence through subsistence level farming. Most often these guardians are uneducated, quite poor and in need of assistance in the care of their children.

Instruction at the school includes letter formation, character development, discipline, and neatness. Outdoor and indoor play time is incorporated into the curriculum. Providing basic health care and instruction in faith formation are instrumental components of the school.

Mother Theresa Fantoni School is highly acclaimed in Kenya. People of the village are very grateful to Living Waters International for its support in assisting the DSFS in advancement of the school. LWI has procured grant dollars to drill a borehole for water at the school, construct a dining hall, for tuition assistance for many of the students, stipends for teachers and the purchase of bible storybooks for the school.
