Fransalian Kindergarten School at Ponta de Ouro in the Maputo Archdiocese of Mozambique

This project provides school tuition fees and food for forty poor children and salaries for teachers at the Fransalian Kindergarten School at Ponta de Ouro village in the Matutuine District of Maputo Province, Mozambique. It aids the missionaries to rescue these children from child labor and other physical and mental abuses. At the school, children are cared for, provided one nutritious meal each day, and develop a love for learning.

The indigenous peoples of Ponta de Ouro still live with many scars in their bodies, minds and hearts from the civil war, which ravaged the country beginning in 1975. Schools are slowly being rebuilt, but before the Fransalian School, there was no kindergarten near Ponta de Ouro Mission for the children.

Proper nutrition at the school has helped these children to maintain good health. A life based on God's love and prayer has been inculcated in them and through them to their families. The witness value of this is priceless! A Christian lifestyle based on the love of God and of one another is at the heart of the New Evangelization. Support of the children of Ponta de Ouro has given them the start to a good education in a Catholic School, introduced them to bible stories, helped them to acquire good moral values, formed them in the Catholic faith, and reassured them that they are loved and cared for. If you wish to join in in the support of these children, please contact us at Living Waters International to arrange your support be channeled to the mission at Ponta de Ouro.
